Conservation of fish
Everyone started off slowly seeing
that it were the first time that some of them handled a fishing rod or even saw
a sliding rietvlei trace but soon they got into rhythm, build confidence and
started to catch some fish. Roodeplaat dam is generally known for his ability
to turn his back on you and leave you hanging with an empty keepnet, but on the
day the “fishing spirits” were with us and we were lucky enough to have caught
a respectable amount of fish.
At the end of the day when you
heard, saw and felt the excitement and thrill of the angling scene it was
legible that the day was a huge success and that a new respect and perception
towards the sport were formed.
