Gauteng North
The Senior National Bank Angling Trials were held on the 4th and 5th of May at Jackie Leonards farm on the Vaal Dam.
The quality of angling was very good and following are the statistics for the event.
· A Section Trials with nominees from the Premier & Presidents “A” Section Championships.
A Total of 52 anglers took part, the number of fish and the weight over the two days was 2189 and 1877.16 kgs.
The Senior Protea team and the Senior Federation Team to take part in the Zone 6 Bank Angling Tournament against Namibia and Zimbabwe was selected from this Section.
· B Section Trials with nominees from the Premier & Presidents “B” Section and Premier “C” Section Championships
A Total of 35 anglers took part, the number of fish and the weight over the two days was 1765 and 1128.55 kgs.
The Senior Federation “B” Team, to take part in the inter Forces and Federation Competition, was selected from this section.
Please find attached the selected teams for your immediate notification and please on behalf of the Selectors pass on our congratulation to the anglers from your Province. As you will now be aware through discussions between our President, Des van Jaarsveld, and SASCOC we have been granted the opportunity of awarding Protea Colours to our top Federation anglers. This is a great day to again have the facility of presenting Protea Colours to our anglers. The Management of each team will be provided with all necessary information in connection with Colours Presentation evening and also programme of angling events.
Once again many congratulation to all anglers who achieved their colours from these trials.
